We are a friendly club offering numerous sailing opportunities throughout the semester at Pennine SC and around the country for all ability levels. Everyone is welcome to join, we have cruisers, racers, complete beginners and good old social sailors! The best way to get involved or find out more information is to get in contact with us either through Facebook or Twitter or email email@example.com. There are many aspects to get involved with:
Racing against other universities takes place at weekend events. We compete at events mainly in the north of England as well as BUSA national team racing championships.
Sailing sessions take place on Wednesday afternoons and weekends throughout the University year.
Beginners are taught to sail by our large number of RYA qualified instructors, either in informal sessions or on organized courses leading to RYA dinghy qualifications.
Socials are a big part of the club, with one taking place most weeks throughout term time. Socials include trips bowling, the annual trip to watch Ice Hockey Varsity at Ice Sheffield and more formal occasions such as the Summer ball.
The most hectic, epic weekend of a SUSC member’s year, The Sheffield Shuffle. Held in November, teams of sailors from other universities descend on the Steel city to do battle on the water and at the socials in our very own team racing event.
